Hearse & Mourners Carriages:

Hearse:

Hand built authentic reproduction white Marston type hearse.

An elegant hearse on elliptic springs, the body has curved lines to the top and bottom, embellished with low relief carving and bowed glass doors front & rear. The Floral rail has been decoratively carved with the corner sections in corresponding chrome. The main side glass has been hand etched with a floral pattern forming a border to the positioned coffin and the mirror boxes also carry the floral pattern along the sides. With white leather seating and hammercloth, the attention to detail is second to none. The interior of the hearse has purple & silver trimmings with chrome coffin stops and rollers. Traditional hearse candle lamps, in white metal are carried.

Mourners Carriages:

Traditionally, the hearse would have been followed by the Mourners in an additional horse drawn enclosed vehicle. We have two suitable Landau carriages in Midnight Blue colour, which the close family/friends may wish to hire.

“Well” Bottom Glass Landau:

Our “Well” bottom glass Landau carriage has a square bottom to the carriage and is in a midnight blue colour and lined with silver around the doors and wheel spokes and inscrolled with “EC” on the doors.

It has navy blue leather interior and is designed to accommodate 4 adults comfortably (plus the driver and groom).

The carriages are reproduction vehicles, made in Poland and are based on an 1890’s original. Due to today’s traffic and for the welfare of the horses (in order that they do not take the weight of the carriage down hill), we opted to have disc brakes on the rear wheels of the carriage.

“Canoe” Bottom Glass Landau:

Our “Canoe” shaped landau is as it sounds much more curved at the bottom and has a small oval window in the back of the hood. Other than this carriage having grey leather upholstery, the colours are identical to the “Well” shaped Landau above.
